Sophomore Class Library Field Trip

The purpose of the field trip is to understand the processes and operation of a library. The Benjamin Hooks Library is the premiere library of Memphis and easy for students to access outside of school. While visiting the library, students will tour the organization of workstations, learn about standard procedures, equipment, meet employees, and explore resources. The field trip offers a hands-on experience of the real-life application of business management practices in a library. Students will socialize with classmates while exploring the library as unified group.

Students will depart the library and a rrive at the Mall to collaborate in groups and discuss how they best utilize the libraries benefits for school projects and assignment at the food court for lunch.  All students will apply for a libray card and checkout a book during the visit to have a hands on experience to share with others to encourage them use the community resource.
